Glen Mar UMC in Maryland had a bold vision. But they recognized that intention alone isn’t always enough. They needed proven, creative ways to encourage and increase giving among their church members. The staff at MAUMF listened to what the church values and helped them put together a plan that reflects and expands the church’s ideas about stewardship. Legacy gifts and planned giving, in which individuals ensure that important ministries continue to thrive, are becoming part of the church’s culture. Because the church invests more than $150,000 with MAUMF, half of their money goes to support ministry and mission outside their congregation.
