Money is a vital ministry tool.
The Mid-Atlantic Faith Foundation (MAFF) provides investment services to help churches make the most of their assets. We also help church leadership and their congregations develop a culture of generous giving and establish sound financial practices. Our goal is to help each church advance its ministries – within congregations, across communities, and around the world.
A portion of MAFF’s fees pay its investment managers, and the rest is re-invested in our mission of helping churches thrive. As assets under management grow, MAFF has offered more classes, more speakers who visit churches to energize stewardship, and more free consulting and/or coaching for our conference churches.
We were originally formed in 2010 by the merger of several foundations to serve three conferences of the United Methodist Church: Eastern Pennsylvania, Peninsula-Delaware, and the Baltimore-Washington Conferences. We continue to serve the 1,400 churches and 300,000 Methodists across these conferences but have broadened our mission in recent years to serve other faiths as well, with the belief that strong stewardship and investment strategies are the foundation of every successful church.

Daily business operations of the Foundation are administered by our Executive Director, Reverend Cary James, Jr. Cary is supported by a staff of professionals dedicated to serving the churches who invest with MAFF and depend on the education, coaching, and resources we provide.
